The alleged authorship of the crimes of armed robbery and illegal possession of weapons is attributed to them

The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has carried out this morning the second phase of the operation 'PUMBAN', an investigation aimed at dismantling a new criminal group settled in La Union and dedicated to commit thefts with force in homes, commercial establishments and vehicles, which has resulted in the arrest of its four members and the seizure of numerous effects from theft and a firearm.
The investigation began at the beginning of last February, when the Benemérita detected the commission, on an ongoing basis, of several robberies with force in shops and offices in the municipality of La Unión, facts that had generated some social alarm.
The first phase of the operation concluded with the arrest of the five members of a criminal group as alleged perpetrators of robbery with force, reception and cultivation, processing and distribution of narcotic substances.
In addition, several stolen objects and 4,600 grams of marijuana were seized in the home search.
After the first phase, the agents continued with the investigation in order to dismantle a second criminal group that developed a wide activity in crimes against the patrimony, for which they established a wide monitoring and surveillance system on the suspects to be found after the authorship of these facts.
Once all the necessary evidence has been obtained, prior judicial authorization, during this morning, the Benemérita and the Local Police of La Unión have deployed a large police device in the San Gil neighborhood of the mining municipality, composed of land and air units, which has been settled with the detention of four people, one of them being a minor, the recovery of multiple objects from robberies and the seizure of a firearm, all in the house search carried out.
In addition, agents have registered several areas of the neighborhood in order to locate more stolen effects.
Those arrested are allegedly responsible for a large number of crimes of burglary in homes, shops and vehicles, still under study, and illegal possession of weapons, because they are in possession of a prohibited weapon.
The second phase of the PUMBAN operation remains active, mainly to locate the high number of victims of theft and return the effects found in the records, as well as the total clarification of the crimes investigated.
The arrested, the recovered objects and the diligences instructed will be put at the disposal of the Court of Instruction of Cartagena (Murcia).

In this phase of the operation, as in the first, the Benemérita has had the close collaboration of the Local Police of La Union.
