The director of the Institute for Youth, Veronica Lopez, accompanied by the mayor of La Union, Francisco Barnabas, and the councilman of Youth, Antonio Liarte, visited this morning the construction of the new Youth Space, which "will become a point meet young people and municipal associations, announced López.
The Youth Institute has allocated a grant of 127,000 euros for equipment for new youth center, which rises on a building of the late nineteenth century, which hosted for many years the Telegraph office in the town.
The building has ground floor and first floor.
The ground floor will have a reception, offices for administrative, conference room and a multipurpose room airy.
The first floor is equipped with a multipurpose room, an open space provided for scheduled activities, meeting rooms and toilets.
Once completed, the new center will house the Youth Council, the Office for Youth Employment and Housing, and various associations and youth organizations in the locality.
In addition, this new infrastructure will be activities and cultural workshops, entertainment and leisure, computers, music and dance.
The Youth Space, said the director of the Institute of Youth, "is a modern and functional, which may include the youth activities of the municipality."
The rehabilitation works for this property, which has a budget of 800,000 euros, will end late in the first half of 2009.
