Running the singing, dancing, guitar and flamenco instrumentalist competitions at the Festival del Cante de las Minas 2018 (09/08/2018)

The semifinals of the singing, dancing, guitar and flamenco instrumental competitions of the 58th edition of the International Festival of Cante de las Minas de La Unión began last night.

In total, 10 artists performed: 5 singers, 3 dancers, 1 guitarist and 1 instrumentalist.

The first stage was opened by the Sevillian instrumentalist Andrés Barrios on piano, followed by the malacitano David Martín, who in his second appearance ended with alegrías.

Later, Evaristo Cuevas de Sevilla attended with mining, cartageneras, taranto, levantica and soleá.

Eugenio Santiago Fernández, from Barcelona, ​​arrived at the guitar with taranta and bulerías.

In fifth place, the Granada-born cantaora Amparo Heredia "La Repompilla" performed by miners, seguriyas, soleá and tangos.

Then the malacitano dancer Rafael Ramírez took to the stage with a taranto, in his second dance, to finish with alegrías.

Cádiz cantaor Pablo Padilla continued with a repertoire of mining, cartageneras, taranta and petenera.

The eighth candidate of the night, Moisés Martínez, came from Huelva with miners, cartageneras, taranta, seguriya and alegrías, followed by the Sevillian dancer Adrián Domínguez with a taranto and a seguiriya to close Cádiz cantaor Jesús Castilla with a soleá and some cantiñas.

He has been a member of the jury for more than ten years as well as the different selective tests of the International Festival of Cante de las Minas.

The Secretary of the Jury will be Salvador Alcaraz.

All the performances of the competitions of the International Festival of the Cante de las Minas of La Unión begin at the Old Public Market of La Unión, at 22:00 hours.
