Citizens denounce the extreme slowness of the work of regeneration of Portman Bay (07/11/2018)

Citizens has denounced "the extreme slowness" with which the regeneration works of the Bay of Portman are being developed, which according to the regional deputy, Luis Fernandez, should have been started two decades ago, "but the apathy of PP and PSOE have caused that they have been delayed considerably ".

Fernández has visited the Bay of Portman to check the development of the works "and we have found that there is only one machine making earthworks, so, obviously, the works will continue to be delayed, despite the fact that there is an economic consignment of almost ten million euros included by Citizens in this year's budgets for the regeneration of the bay. "

The deputy of the orange formation has collected the discomfort of the residents of Portman for the continuous delays that are taking place.

"They are the real harmed by the disputes between PP and PSOE.

Even ironically we have been told that Portman has received more visits from ministers than any other point in the region, but that after the walk and the promises of rigor, everything remains the same. "

In this sense, the deputy of Cs has regretted that the pretexts continue to slow down the work.

"The last excuse is that the mining company San José can not assume all the discharges that are going to be taken out of the bay.

We do not know if it is a technical problem or because of a political issue, but it can not be a pretext when previous studies have been carried out, "said Fernandez, who considers it necessary to find other places to continue evacuating spills. among the innumerable wells and short mining areas.

"If the right jobs are carried out, it would be possible to find a solution in the year and a half that will take a long time to clog the San José mining cut."

Fernandez recalled that the orange training has presented several initiatives in the Congress of Deputies to learn about the current status of the works.

The orange training has registered questions to know the situation in which the regeneration works of the bay are currently: to find out the degree of execution of the budget items and to know when the completion of the entire regeneration process is expected.

"We understand that the regeneration of the bay will produce a revitalization of the area at an industrial and tourist level, which would be an economic boost for the municipality of La Union, hence it is so important that there are no further delays in carrying out the works ", The deputy of Citizens has finished.
