The Union bets on cemetery tourism (11/12/2019)

Next Friday, December 13 at 8:00 p.m. there will be a guided night tour through the cemetery of Our Lady of the Rosary of La Unión.

In this way, the Unionense cemetery joins the increasingly popular 'cemetery tourism', a tourist typology that is booming in the Region and throughout the country.

Mysterious Routes®, organizer of the event, proposes the participants to immerse themselves in a magical journey between tombs and pantheons, during which they will discover numerous stories and legends under the moonlight.

The objective of the initiative is that attendees discover with new eyes one of the best witnesses in our history, learn to decipher the strange symbols inscribed on some of their tombstones and, incidentally, listen to the oddly disturbing story.

All this with the utmost respect and sensitivity by some guides with extensive experience in this type of activities, such as Antonio Florit, official guide of the Region of Murcia, and the writer and archaeologist Santiago García, author of several books on historical enigmas .

It should be remembered that Rutas Misteriosas® is a specialist in valuing artistic cemeteries, as it has been doing since last July with that of Los Remedios de Cartagena.

In the last six months, more than half a thousand people have rediscovered the history, art and enigmas of the port cemetery.

And it is not the only one, because the same agency has launched similar initiatives Monturque (Córdoba), which has Roman tanks declared of Cultural Interest, and in the English cemetery of Malaga, another of the most unique in the peninsula.
