Ana Martínez Vidal recalled that the current budget of the General Directorate of Energy and Industrial and Mining Activity includes control actions with predictive studies, inspection and updating of the inventory of mining wells: "For the first time in 20 years a specific inventory has been prepared , defined and complete, to minimize possible future tragedies ”.Regarding the Plan for the environmental recovery of soils affected by mining, of the 30 actions to be carried out, only two depend on this department: the safety and closure of abandoned mining waste facilities.The current forecast is that the closure of the waste facilities called 'El Lirio' (Cartagena) and 'El Discharger I and II' (in La Unión and Cartagena) can begin between the end of this financial year 2020 and the beginning of 2021 respectively), as well as in 'San Cristóbal I' in Mazarrón, in addition to continuing with the restoration of the so-called 'Brunita' in La Unión.
