PP: "PSOE and Podemos vote not to continue the regeneration of Portman Bay" (16/10/2020)

This Wednesday in the Regional Assembly a motion of the PP was debated requesting the resumption of the works of regeneration of the Bay of Portmán, to which the deputies of PSOE and PODEMOS voted NO, based on excuses bars without any basis. From the Popular Party of La Unión we denounce once again the abandonment of the regeneration by the Government of Pedro Sanchez, who the first thing he did when he arrived in La Moncloa was to paralyze the works with no other argument than to cite a sentence in which they are not suspended the works, which were stopped by the exclusive political will of the Government.

And above all, the local and regional representatives of the PSOE are not moving a single finger so that regeneration reaches our bay.

In view of this, we must remember that the work was awarded for 31 million euros in 2015 by the Popular Party government and was being carried out with total normality from its beginning in 2016 until the socialist government decided to stop it in 2019.Enough of the submission that both the Mayor of La Unión, Pedro López, and the Secretary General of the Socialist Party in the Region of Murcia, Diego Conesa, have, who put the regeneration of the bay and the defense of our municipality ahead to their own partisan interests, bowing their heads to their bosses in Madrid instead of defending the future of all the citizens who live in the Sierra Minera de Cartagena - La Unión.We are not talking about any environmental problem, we are talking about the worst environmental disaster in the history of the Mediterranean.

The Government of the Nation has a historical debt with the municipality of La Unión and we will fight until we achieve it, since the future of everyone and our locality depends on it.
