The Mayor of La Union, Francisco Barnabas, and the Director of Public Works, José Ballesta, inaugurated the completion of rehabilitation works of 36 public houses belonging to promote regional park.

The Mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabé, stressed the importance of this action because "the housing rehabilitation will substantially improve the quality of life for residents."

Barnabas thanked "the firm commitment of the Ministry of Public Works with the Union as to work performed in these 36 homes, we must add the important investments being made in the district of San Gil in which it already has begun the last phase of the comprehensive rehabilitation of this area. "

The twenty-two rehabilitated homes in the town of the municipality is located in a block between the streets Esteban Velasco Bernal and Camilo Jose Cela, while fourteen of the village of Roche found on the street Saura Pérez Martín, where woodwork was repaired metal exterior, and has carried out an improved sealing and insulation of buildings.

In addition, it has proceeded to the conditioning of access areas, interior courtyards, the replacement of guardrails and rehabilitation of the facades.

The rehabilitation of these 36 houses of public promotion represents an investment of € 200,000, fully funded by the Institute for Housing and Land in the Region (IVS).

The works of rehabilitation of these houses of public promotion in La Union and Roche are part of the Plan 'Fix', action promoted by the regional government in 2009 for the recovery of regional public park and that included the refurbishment of over 900 homes in municipalities of Cartagena, La Unión, Abarán, Caravaca de La Cruz, Cehegín, Cieza, Molina de Segura and Puerto Lumbreras, and another 600 new homes in Abanilla, Sewer, Alhama, Blanca, Calasparra, Cartagena, Ceuta, Lorca Puerto Lumbreras and Villanueva del Río Segura, throughout this year, representing a total investment of 3.8 billion euros.
