The City of La Union and the Retail Association have held a meeting whose purpose has been sharing ideas and opinions, as well as complaints and suggestions, in order to improve local business in the municipality.

This event, held at the Cultural Center Asensio Sáez, was attended by the Mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabé, the Councillor of Home Affairs, Police, Personal and Institutional Relations, Juana Sanchez, the commanding officer of the local police, Fulgencio Cegarra ; FAEPU president, Mariano Miranda, the president of the Association of Retail Trade, Leandro Martínez, and the voice of that association, Juan Pedro Albaladejo.

Employers have argued that the municipality is producing a mass of shops 24 hours, usually run by foreign nationals, competing "unfairly" with local businesses, because in his view, committed irregularities which are not punished and that they provide very favorable conditions for growth.

For this reason, more than thirty entrepreneurs who were present were asked, through their representatives, measures such as the expertise of several local police officers in the rules relating to these businesses.

For its part, the mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabé, has pledged to strengthen policing and monitoring regarding the legality of local businesses, announcing that it will soon ask all "that expose the calendar work in front of their shops, to facilitate the task of the agents. "

In other matters, the meeting with businessmen has also served to discuss the need to articulate, as soon as possible, the open-air mall to enhance the business of the Union, especially after the opening of Mining Park, and to increase the influx of tourists to visit the town unionense constantly.
