The Bureau of Local Employment of La Union is continuing its work to improve socio-economic (28/10/2010)

The Bureau of Local Employment of The Union has today resumed their analysis of economic and business context of the municipality to develop a diagnosis to analyze and seek common solutions to current local unemployment.

The meeting, chaired by the mayor of La Unión, Bernabe Francisco, attended by representatives of political groups in the city council (PSOE, PP and IU), the SEF and UGT and CCOO trade unions and the Federation Business & Professional Associations (FAEPU) Welcomes Murcia, Fundación Sierra Minera, the Local Development Agency, and the Chamber of Commerce.

During the meeting were released data from the unemployment situation in the municipality, provided by the Regional Observatory on Employment and progress in the various studies being undertaken by various entities to make a diagnosis possible in which to promote ideas and solutions that context derived from the economic crisis.

Those present agreed on a new Local Employment Bureau on 16 November to submit their own proposals and conclusions thereon, which will be established in a report summarizing the state of affairs and will lead to a final agreement on the actions to develop.

The municipality of La Union currently has the highest unemployment rate throughout the Region of Murcia, with about 35 percent of the workforce unemployed.
