The Sierra Minera de La Union will have a forest of 1,000 trees and shrubs through the project initiated by the Southeastern Association of Naturalists (ANSE), with the local municipal and volunteer unionense the IES Sierra Mining and Maria Salcedo Cegarra , is populated by plantation saw weekly.

The aim of the project, being developed every Friday and will run for three weeks, is to initiate the recovery of forests and shrubs that should occupy the mountains before the commencement of mining, hence, according to Jorge Sánchez activist ANSE, the importance of this initiative will have a large magnitude.
