They place the first stone in the refurbishment of the square Joaquín Costa (21/03/2011)

The Minister of Universities and Research Company, Salvador Marin, and the mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabé have today laid the foundation stone of the works which will reshape the Plaza Joaquín Costa de La Union, a performance that will the total resurfacing and extension into the same stairway access to the Old Public Market, among other reforms.

These works, which have a budget of 200,000 euros fully funded by the Directorate General of Trade and Handicraft of the CARM, part of the great performances of renewal of the historical center of La Union that are taking place in recent years face to enhance the tourist and commercial activity in the municipality.

In this sense, the actions taken are aimed at the implementation of a large strip mall with shops in the city center, an initiative that has had its previous steps in the reform of the Royal Street and the city center semipeatonalización and will have its final culmination with the comprehensive reform of the High Street.

Work on the Plaza Joaquín Costa enable not only placing a new pavement, but also a new poplar trees that will replace the palms affected by the red palm weevil pest and new street furniture and some storm drains in top of the square to prevent water flowing over the surface of the plaza when it rains.

After the visit, Marin and Francisco Salvador Barnabas, accompanied by the director of the Instituto de Fomento de Murcia, Juan José Beltrán, and the director general of Trade and Crafts, Julio José Lorenzo, have held meetings with President of the Federation of Associations Businessmen and Professionals Union (FAEPU), Mariano Miranda, and the president of the Retail Association of La Union, Leandro Martínez, which have covered all aspects related to the promotion of the commercial sector in the municipality.

NEW TECHNOLOGIES AND RENEWABLE ENERGY

It also held a meeting with representatives of entrepreneurs of the Industrial "What Bolarín" who has submitted the proposed improvement works in that area with which you want to regenerate the local business and convert it into new employment sites, especially to those related to new technologies and renewable energy.

This project, amounting to 160,000 euros funded by the Autonomous Community, seeks to respond to new industrial developments becoming "The Bolarín" an auxiliary to the same polygon, and therefore that the City has sold to the CARM through Public Land Society, several plots to which it applies sustainable industrial architecture and the spaces allocated to companies dedicated to new technologies.

In addition, the project is in implementation of a business incubator for the Consistory whose location has already prepared the land, and that the unanimous consent of the Local Employment Committee will be geared toward the renewable energy sector and new technologies , thus avoiding the traditional system of business incubators aimed at all types of businesses.
