The Old Public Market last night hosted an extraordinary Gala Solidaria in which a selection of the best flamenco artists of the moment met to give the best of their art for the earthquake victims in Lorca.

The event, called "Flamenco por Lorca" was organized by the City and the Foundation Cante de las Minas and included the participation of artists Argentina, Carlos Piñana, Marina Heredia, Pitingo, Tomatito, Diego El Cigala, Carmen Linares and Miguel Poveda .

The event was hosted by journalist Juan Ramón Lucas.

All artists acted in an extraordinary level and the public that filled the room, enjoyed the best flamenco throughout the three hours-long charity festival.

Proceeds from ticket sales, as well as income from row 0 and in the SMS Solidario, after deducting expenses, will be donated entirely to the table of the solidarity of Lorca.

Contributions through Row 0, current account Cajamurcia 2043.0064.19.2007000898, and Solidarity SMS, by sending the word "LORCA" to number 27,277, you will remain until Thursday June 30, at which will be closed the fundraising for the victims of earthquakes.

The Mayor and President of the Foundation Executive Committee Cante de las Minas, Francisco Bernabé, wanted to publicly thank the generosity and altruism highlighted by every artist, presenter and people in the organization who have worked for free for successful completion of this initiative.

The important thing, he added, is that the Union has once again proven to be a supportive and knows people come up to the highest expectations.

The gala audience enjoyed a very high thanks to television broadcasting by the Murcia Region 7, for our region, and TVE through the 2, for the rest of Spain, and the International Channel, for the foreigner.

Gala was attended by among others, the Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, the Minister of Universities, Business and Research, Salvador Marín, the Government Delegate, Rafael Gonzalez, the Director General for the Promotion of Culture and the Book, Francisco Gimenez Senator, Pedro José Pérez, model, Sandra Ibarra, the first deputy mayor of Cartagena, Nicolas Angel Bernal and the Director of the Truth, Alberto Aguirre, among others.
