The Festival del Cante de las Minas Enrique Morente pays homage to one year after his death (06/08/2011)

The Festival returns to recognize the career of the great flamenco singer, innovator of flamenco, after he received the Golden Castillete the fiftieth anniversary.

Two of his brothers, Joseph and Antonio Morente, receive heat from the people of La Union.

Friday, August 5 .- The memory of Enrique Morente La Union is more alive than ever.

If you already last year received the Gold Castillete Festival, coinciding with the fiftieth anniversary of the event, a year later, received another tribute very different, one posthumously, after the tragic end last December that ended his life.

As I said the Mayor of La Union and Festival President Francisco Bernabé, "The Union and the festival wants to Henry as well as Henry loved this town," so that his memory is more present than ever, and remain so.

His brothers, Pepe and Antonio, gathered excited recognition, stressing "the day so enjoyable that we have passed in La Union, picking up the affection of the people towards our brother."

Mayor Francisco Bernabé, complained of having known so little time to master Granada, "but fortunately I treat him very hard during his last year of life," he said, and lamented that no longer can develop several projects that had the singer with La Union as a documentary "that would unite all miners in the world through his musical expressions. From Union, travel to every continent and see how they expressed their pain and suffering miners the world."

Bernabe added "hopefully his daughter Estrella is released and resume the adventure of this exciting project."

The other project will be sadly aware of Enrique Morente, refers to "three weeks before he died promised to sing the last ball of Blanca del Rey in his farewell to take place at the Cathedral of Cante, to be held next Monday August 8. "

After these words of the mayor, attended the cultural events accompanying the brothers Enrique Morente and the authorities of the Union to inaugurate the Walk of the miner's lamp which is located on Avenida del Flamenco in front of the Cathedral of Cante , and whose first lamp has been to Enrique Morente.

Before the official ceremony, presented an excerpt of the documentary "Enrique Morente: looking eyes," the filmmaker Onesimus Hernandez.

Cegarra Julio Garcia, Festival Director quoted words of the writer, director of the Festival's official magazine "Mining Lamp" and press officer of the same Celdrán Paco (Paco Icarus): "I remember my dear friend One (Onesimus Samuel Hernandez) director of the documentary: "Enrique Morente, searching eyes" kicking the steep ridges of the Sierra Minera de La Union with an enthusiastic and willing Enrique Morente, bluntly, to be ruled and run by a guy in his twenties who had gone to get to Granada with the card, in front of La Union and its Festival. "For the Festival de las Minas, whatever it takes" and took the car and came here. It is Enrique Morente much loved Union as The Union and its Festival still love him and admire him.

? And here came from Granada, wrote above.

And here's the very famous and Morente, up and down the mountain, singing in a mine, or marking time on the huge concrete supports of the windmills that have replaced smokestacks and masts.

Or a sunset, sitting on a white chair, alone on the black sands of the bay of Portman, with a sound wave in the background.

There, where the bay and death are one, Morente sang "Time of Death" (Oh, how she sings the night / the way he sings), the letter carried in the old album "Omega".

And there in the dark bay, Morente also recited: "At the time of death / no I put it ahead / I want that as well / my heart part."

And then he Morente, alone on the white chair, a thought: "There are many deaths before the latest death."

To round off this painful reminder of urgency, I recall the words that gave him another big flamenco also abandoned us.

Mario Maya says: "In Enrique Morente will suit this stanza, sometimes I say," The voice of the guitar / trailing off up the street / and around the corner / he was singing. "?

Sing, sing forever.? Thanks for everything, master. "
