The municipality of La Union continues to work with determination in the draft environmental regeneration and tourism development of Portman Bay, whose works are expected next spring will begin.
In this sense, our mayor, Francisco Bernabé, held separate meetings with the two main organizations of environmental protection in the Region of Murcia: Ecologists in Action, represented by its Board of Directors and Professor Miguel Angel Esteve, and ASEAN, to through its director Pedro Garcia.
During both meetings, the mayor, they were told the council's initial proposals for the future tourism development of Portman, always based on sustainability criteria and in accordance with previously existing agreements between the authorities about it.
Meanwhile, environmental organizations made him our first mayor to know about its principles, undertake to send written shortly ahead of consideration at future meetings to be maintained by the monitoring committee of the Regional Strategic Project of the Bay Portman.
Barnabas has described these meetings as very successful and enlightening, highlighting a number of ideas and initiatives that advance the study can be accommodated in the final configuration of the project.
