On Sunday The Union returns to celebrate Santa Barbara (02/12/2011)

On the occasion of our town have recovered the traditional feast of Saint Barbara, patron saint of mining, the City Council invites all residents to participate in the events planned to celebrate on Sunday December 4, according to the following schedule:

10.00 am: Start of Open Day at the Mining Museum, with free entry for all citizens.

11.00 h: The Mining Museum, commemoration of the 25th anniversary of its foundation and presentation of the proposed new Mining Museum in La Union.

12.00 h: In the Church of the Rosary, Mass in honor of Minera Santa Barbara, with interpretations of flamenco cante Encarnación Fernández and Antonio Muñoz Fernandez on guitar.

13.00: In the Plaza Joaquín Costa, memory and wreath in memory of all miners of La Union, with a Grand Barrenazo shot.

13.15 h: The Main Street Musical Parade by the Band of horns, drums and bagpipes of the Association of the Virgin of Solitude.

Also during this time, the Union Mining Park will implement a reduced rate for your visitors popular, the cost of 5 euros entry.

For our Mayor Bernabe Francisco, Santa Barbara is the patron saint of mining for many years was the big local festival of La Union.

This initiative seeks to continue fighting to regain our roots and identity as a people.
