Impressive start of Holy Week 2012 (02/04/2012)

Holy Week began this past weekend and the result of the first processions can be described as spectacular.

It was during the Saturday afternoon took place when, for the second consecutive year, the penitential Stations of the Cross in honor of the Holy Christ of the Miners.

Over 5,000 people joined the head of the Brotherhood in its journey from Mina to the Church Groups Vicenta Our Lady of the Rosary.

All attendees, led by our Mayor, Francisco Barnabas, accompanied by the councilors of the government team, and Big Brother of the Brotherhood, Sunday Alajarin, both highlighted in the extraordinarily beautiful and moving that it is this parade, in which combines like no other religious faith with the roots of the unionenses mining.

On Palm Sunday served to live another three processions in our town, two in La Union and one in Portman.

The first two got their start in the Church of Our Lady of Sorrows, one of them starting early in the morning to the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary, while the second was done by mid-morning streets and squares of the same quarter of the Garbanzal.

The last procession was held at Portman, where a new group has joined the procession of the palms, thereby contributing to a higher profile and attractiveness of the parade.

The next Holy Thursday, at 21.00, will the Procession of Silence in honor of the Christ of the Miners Union, while at 00.00 will take place Portman.

The Good Friday procession in La Union will be at 20.30.
