The Health Center project in La Union, distributed in two phases, has led to the reform of existing building of 1,600 m2, and expanding by building a new annex building of 1,750 m2, representing a total joint 3,350 m2 of public health care.
The first phase of the work consisted in expanding facilities through the construction of the new building, while the second phase, completed last January, corresponds to the rehabilitation of the existing building.
The expansion and refurbishment has also now have ten GP surgeries, six of them new, and eight nursing visits versus the previous three, also has increased from two to three the number of consultations in the area of ​​Pediatrics.
It has also been provided to the building of a library for use by medical professionals in the center.
Also maintained two minor surgery rooms and expanded the treatment room, the extractions and waiting rooms, also has built a new unit for diagnostic techniques.
In the area dedicated to the woman, the new health center is enlarged consultation and created also a new waiting room and a multipurpose room, while in the area for new boxes Physiotherapy and expand the room waiting and consultation, as well as the areas of administration and services.
In emergencies, the expansion of moving from one unit to have four, and have the space for a treatment room, staff lounge, bedrooms for professionals, new toilets, stores and a separate room for new patients on methadone.
Also in the basement car park has been built for workers in the center and on the outside a garage for ambulances.
About fifty public health professionals offer their services 24 hours a day at the health center, which is currently the largest and most modern available to the Region of Murcia.
It is also expected soon expanding new services with the introduction of the dental and radiology.
