The National Environment Commission of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), in which our town is represented in the person of our Mayor, Francisco Bernabé, held a working meeting to discuss various matters within its competence.
Specifically have approved various reports and recommendations, in order to joining state legislation concerning air quality, sanitation urban water and waste collection and recycling.
It has also been under consideration the situation of the Covenant of Mayors for the Environment, which aims to reduce CO2 emissions to the atmosphere in Europe and in which our town is a pioneer nationally, which will mean in brief bid for a new contract for street lighting will bring, along with a significant environmental improvement, meaning savings for municipal coffers, initially estimated at 15% annually, and all without any cost to the citizens.
