With glass recycling reduces energy consumption, saves raw material and landfills and reduce air pollution
The City of La Union and Ecovidrio, non-profit association responsible for managing the recycling of glass packaging waste put into the containers in Spain, report the results of the collection of glass containers during the 2012 campaign , having achieved a record result of 225,200 kg, being 45% greater than those obtained in the 2011 campaign were of 155,550 kg
Undoubtedly, the installation of the new 26 igloos made in 2011 that involved a total allocation of 83 units across the municipality and the good of the citizens of the Union, have led to the production of this magnificent result.
They deposited unionenses citizens last year an average of 11.50 kg per capita glass relative to 9.01 kg in 2011.
Should remember that glass containers located in the streets only serve to collect glass containers (jars, bottles and bottles) that we all consume.
Other materials, such as ceramics or other types of glass (glasses, window glass, etc..), That having a different composition to glass containers should be deposited in the appropriate recycling center of the city .
It also should be deposited either plastic containers, bags, cans, etc..
having a corresponding storage container.
With a simple gesture such as separating the bottles, jars and flasks used to deposit later in igloos, reduce energy consumption, save raw materials and diminish landfills and air pollution.
All with minimal effort we can easily become a habit: to accumulate a small amount of containers, and place them in the igloo when going from step to work, shopping, etc..
Remember that 100% of the deposited glass containers are recycled and used to manufacture new glass containers, achieving numerous environmental benefits.
