The Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM) organized a year, one of its summer courses in our town under the name "The Union: presence of cultures".
The initiative has been developed by the Department of Humanities and Religious of this university and also attended by about 60 young students.
After being greeted in the hall of the House of the pinion, the Councillor for Tourism, Antonio Liarte, participants have made a tour of our town, the Mining Park and museums in order to know our life and customs, the root mining and its cultural influence and Portman ecological disaster.
With this initiative, as with the two Congresses university that will develop in the coming weeks with the University of Murcia and the University of Cartagena, La Union has established itself as college town during the summer, favoring the arrival of students outside our municipality over several days.
The course was coordinated by Esteban Aguirre Bernal and Ricardo Lafuente Terrer.
