Aria confident early mineral resource statement as non-naturally occurring sediment discharges into the bay of Portman (17/02/2014)

The research, carried out by a company that specializes in drilling, EDASU, under the supervision of competent technicians, and the Munuera Laboratories as an Inspection by experts from the Directorate General of Industry, Energy and Mines of the Autonomous Community Murcia confirm historical results and endorse those made by the company during the summer of 2013.

The data show mean concentrations of iron oxide (III) between 43.5% and 34.3%, with slightly higher iron content in the samples corresponding to the uppermost layer, and the presence of other metal elements and mineralogical species where present.

These data justify the classification of a resource thus allow the complete rehabilitation of the Bay.

The last campaign of surveys, conducted in January, was initiated by the company, both in response to the need of the Directorate General of Industry, Energy and Mines of Murcia in checking, testing, data and samples for the statement which it considers appropriate on the unnatural reservoir (under art. 46.2 of the General Rules for the regime of mining), to advance knowledge of the environment to its future regeneration and also investigate the characteristics sediment in the underground Bay Area.

Thus, after the execution of the research, given that the analytical results of research carried out campaigns support the viability of the recovery of the sediment, the company says it is now ready to present the technical projects that prove technical, environmental and financial feasibility of the proposed initiative, now focusing its efforts on the application of technologies to accurately separate the fractions, and the recovery efficiency of the mineral, in order to develop a project that considered exemplary and allow, by comprehensive rehabilitation, return the Bay to its original state.

Recall that once sediment discharges in Portman Bay as a resource section B, non-naturally occurring, qualified the State may exercise their preference for the use, as a result of being the owner / possessor of the land where it is the non-natural site located so that a Public Competition could be convened.

The future concessionaire and selected through a procurement competition, who will, under the concession granted by the Department of Sustainability of the Coast and the Ocean, will assume the obligation to execute the environmental regeneration of the Bay Portman, and receive in exchange the assignment of state mining exploitation rights.
