During the 2013-2014 school year, the CEIP Alfonso X El Sabio, La Union, affiliated to the EME project (Undertaking at my school).
This project is being carried out in schools in the Region of Murcia, since 2009, by the Department of Industry, Innovation Company, through the Institute for the Promotion of the Region of Murcia (INFO), together with the Ministry of Education Universities and Employment, set in a plan whose goal is the Development of Enterprise Culture in Early Ages.
During the school year students are in the classroom their own businesses, where they perform tasks such as the election of the governing board of the cooperative, corporate image and the drafting of statutes.
Its activity is the manufacture of its own products made by them in class, prior market research.
On Tuesday, the school's students took to the streets to sell their products, such as installing a purpose that was loaned to them by the City in the weekly market every Tuesday on Main Street.
In municipal representation came to wish them luck with this initiative, the Councillor for Education, Julio Garcia, accompanied by Councillors Planning and Citizen Services, Salvador Martinez and Maria Hermogenes, respectively.
On return, the school mini-companies will have to make accounts, pay suppliers, recover the capital, and finally with their abundance, undertake a joint activity among all children.
These programs also include an area of ​​Corporate Social Responsibility, for some of the benefits of school mini-companies to a social order that the students decided to draw up their constitutions.
The objective of the EME project is to develop entrepreneurial skills in children and youth from an early age, working on them skills such as personal initiative, autonomy, teamwork, leadership, conflict resolution capacity or skills communication, among others, a doer own capabilities.
