Explanatory note on the dance competition in Tokyo (26/08/2014)

From Sing Foundation Mine is placed on general knowledge that the content of the information provided by this entity on competitions held recently in Tokyo by the Foundation and the Nippon Association of Flamenco (ANIF) is incorrect as regards the outcome of the competition Dancing in the share which has been two winners of the same character of ex-aequo.

In this regard, notes that for members of the Spanish jury the winner of the contest was the dancer Kaori Horikoshi, while for Japanese components jury who deserved win the award was the dancer Keiko Ishikawa, this being the reason caused confusion when transmitting at first the news to Spain and the subsequent initial dissemination of the same.

Once already back to our country the Spanish delegation, and clarified that aspect to it, the decision of the Cante de las Minas Foundation has been to maintain the agreement and declare their sworn therefore winner Kaori Horikoshi, subject from our organization considering the high level of dance exhibited by Japanese competitors in general and Keiko Ishikawa in particular fact also justifies the invitation to attend the latter to also go ANIF as representative of the final stages of next edition of the Cante de las Minas in 2015.

Data provided on singing competitions, in which the singer Yoko Omori beat and guitar, which was deserted, are correct from the outset and these were adopted by agreement between the two delegations.

From the Foundation Cante de las Minas apologizing for the errors that might have led such confusion, obviously involuntary and caused by communication problems in different language and the will to get the word out as soon as possible all Spanish fans.

Finally, since our organization is to publicly reiterate its gratitude to both jurors and other members of the Spanish expedition, for the great work done during the celebration of the first edition of the Festival del Cante de las Minas in Tokyo, and most particularly to ANIF our partner, who will continue to work closely in the future for new editions of the event, all participating artists for the interest shown and artistic level, and the Japanese public to massively followed the event for three days of celebration, as demonstrated no doubt that Japan should be considered, along with Spain, as the nation's love, respect and fight for the preservation, enhancement and dissemination of flamenco art in the world.
