The Union experienced yesterday one of its traditional big day with the celebration of the Feast of Santa Barbara, Patron of Mining and Mining, which paid tribute unionenses led by our Mayor, Julio García, and by the Directors of Education , Culture and Universities, and Development, Public Works and Planning, Pedro Antonio Sanchez and Francisco Bernabé, respectively, on a day which was also attended by the councilors of the Municipal Corporation, and several regional government authorities.
The main actions were a Minera Mass and subsequent Tribute in Mining Monument with Wreath under the strains of the national anthem, culminating with a spectacular Barrenazo, mascletá style, which shook the foundations of our town center.
Also during the day took place the awards ceremony of the first edition of contests Drawing and Storytelling "Santa Barbara" especially emotional event for the participation of schools in the municipality.
Also during the day could enjoy Musical Parade, Rockets, and Open in Museums and the Mining Park of La Union, all of which helped hundreds of people to enjoy the wonderful atmosphere yesterday lived in our city .
