The Mayor of La Union and Executive Chairman of the Foundation Cante de las Minas received this morning from His Majesty the King, in the El Pardo, the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts, which was granted to International Festival of Cante de las Minas last year.
During the ceremony, acknowledged the merits made by our Festival, which, we have strong creditor as meaning reward.
An award which makes us even further responsibility to keep working steadily to increase the level year after year the International Festival of Cante de las Minas.
Julio Garcia has expressed the Chief of gratitude and excitement of the citizens of our town medal awarded, plus putting the king in history of the major projects of cultural, tourist and industrial type, in which it is immersed currently the town .
In this sense, the Mayor has formally invited His Majesty to himself, or the member of the Royal Family to appoint a visit to La Union in the near future is made.
For his part, King expressed his satisfaction and pride in delivering this award, showing keen interest in the various initiatives presented by the Mayor and encouraging the municipality to fight fiercely to get them given their importance.
Finally, Don Felipe sent through our first mayor, a heartfelt hug and best wishes for prosperity for all citizens of the Union, Portman and Roche.
