The Minister of Education, Culture and Universities, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, and the mayor of La Union and CEO of the Foundation Cante de las Minas, Julio Garcia, revealed today that the fifty-fifth International Festival of Cante de las Minas to be held between 5 and 15 August 2015 shall be proclaimed by Estrella Morente and will have a poster by FCG.
Also, the Region of Murcia will star in this year's Festival.
The singer and director of the Flamencology of the Catholic University of Murcia, Estrella Morente, gives the baton to criers as Luis del Olmo, Antonio Lucas, María Dueñas, Carlos Herrera, Fernando Sanchez Drago and Juan Ramón Lucas.
Also, the painter and sculptor FCG held the poster of the event, which has already received other artists like Churches, Tapies, Chillida, Valdés, Barceló, Canogar, Chirino, Gordillo, Arroyo, Lucas or Gaya, among others.
Also, Pedro Antonio Sanchez and Julio Garcia reported that from today until April 30 is open the deadline for artists to register at the four competitions that take place in the contest: cante (trophy Mining Lamp), guitar ( The trophy Bordon), dancing (trophy Desplante) and Flemish instrumentalist (trophy Reef).
The contests of the Festival de las Minas have an overall cash prize of 81,000 euros, which makes them better equipped financially to those held today, highlighting Mining Lamp, with a prize of 15,000 euros, while the remaining three trophies have a budget of 9,000 euros each.
The remaining amounts shall be allocated to the second prizes and other awards.
The artistic competitions La Union are considered among critics and audiences as the most important in the world of flamenco, and among the winners Enrique Morente, Miguel Poveda, Diego el Cigala, Vicente Amigo, Maite Martín, Israel Galván, Pitingo, Carmen Linares Luis de Córdoba, Rafael Amargo, Carlos Javier Latorre or Piñana, among others.
