El Cante de las Minas already has the "Cossio" (24/02/2015)

The Royal Bullfighting Federation of Spain, has delivered the XXI National Trophy "Cossio" of the 2014 season in Madrid at an event with the highest figures from the world of bullfighting.

The award has been given to the Foundation Cante de las Minas de La Union occurs in the category of "Best International Labor by the Party" for his contribution to the promotion of bullfighting internationally, combining the arts flamenco and bullfighting.

Among the other winners include the following categories: Matador de Toros, Miguel Angel Perera;

Matador Revelation, Juan del Alamo;

Best Livestock, D. Victoriano del Rio;

Amateur flagship, Maria Eloisa Cabrera Carmona, Deputy Mayor of Roquetas de Mar (Almería).

The Executive Chairman of the Foundation Cante de las Minas and Mayor of La Union, Julio Garcia, thanked the Royal Bullfighting Federation of Spain, this recognition, which confirms the work for bullfighting that has been developing in the contest since unionense years as together with flamenco, are two of our greatest hallmarks.

Julio Garcia recalled that the Foundation Cante de las Minas unconditionally supports bullfighting as an unmistakable symbol of Spanish culture, as also happens with flamenco.

"Both expressions artistic-Garcia says part of the history of our country and around the world representing the truest essence of our traditions and our culture."

This conviction is what led the Foundation Cante de las Minas explicitly defend bullfighting in all its expressions.

A defense that is demonstrated by initiatives such as the big show "Bullfighting Flamenca" premiered last 2014 within the 54 Festival del Cante de las Minas.
