Begin semifinals Festival del Cante de las Minas 2015 (11/08/2015)

The International Festival of Cante de las Minas receive tomorrow the first round of applicants for a berth in the final of Saturday 15 August.

The Old Public Market of the Union will from 22:00 the first semifinal contests of song, guitar, dance and flamenco instrumentalist.

A total of 12 artists among which there are seven singers, two guitarists, two dancers and a flamenco instrumentalist.

As a novelty, it involved the Japanese Keiko Ishikawa, winning with Kaori Horikoshi dance contest in the first edition of the Festival del Cante de las Minas held in Japan last year.

It is evident the predominance of Andalusian artists (Granada, Almeria, Malaga, Cadiz, Seville and Cordoba), but also come from other locations such as Madrid, Barcelona and Cartagena.

In addition, the Cultural Agenda Festival has prepared, from 19:00, first, the documentary "13. Miguel Poveda," directed by Paco Ortiz and produced by Juan Carlos Island. And then presentation book-album "The Garden of flamenco" by its author, Juan Verdú flamencologist stirring flamenco and José Manuel Gamboa.

To mark the 25th anniversary on stage Paco Ortiz has made the documentary "13. Miguel Poveda," an approach to the person behind the spotlight, his home, his family and his origins.

During the screening some of the most important moments in the career of Poveda as the inauguration of the Bienal de Sevilla 2010, presentation of ArteSano at the Teatro Real and the last concert life of Chavela Vargas in which he participated was revive.

And all accompanied by other great artists as Serrat, Maria Dolores Pradera, Rodolfo Mederos, Joan Albert Amargós, Enric Palomar, Chicuelo, Martyrdom, Carmen Linares, Moraito, Matilde Coral, Luis el Zambo ...

As for the presentation of "The Garden of flamenco", this book-disk makes a chronological review of the situation of flamenco since the end of the Franco era to the present, a detailed account of the main flamenco temples in the country, with stories, stories and characters.

This edition includes a CD with unreleased songs of Enrique and Estrella Morente.
