The University of Murcia contribute their knowledge to research on the mining history of the Union (30/03/2009)

The University of Murcia, through teachers of the Department of Applied Economics, Miguel Ángel Pérez de Perceval and Miguel Angel López Morell, work with the City of La Union for the development of research on the mining history of this town.

The agreement, signed today in the convalescence, home of the Rector of the institution, also includes cooperation to preserve and disseminate knowledge of memory and historical heritage of the mining town.

The rector, José Antonio Cobacho, and the mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabé, signed the agreement which, according to the latter, makes the University of Murcia in a "cornerstone" of the Theme Park of the Sierra Minera.

This project is put Groups Vicente Mine, which, with more than 2,300 square meters open to the public at 80 meters deep, thus becomes one of the largest mining sites visited Europe.

The above teachers also attended the ceremony, pledged to develop the studies and reports as may be required as the City of La Union and the university.
