Have already begun the works for the rehabilitation and refurbishment of the building in the Old Schools of Roche to make it the new location of the Ethnological Museum in the town.
The Mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabé, visited the beginning of the work, noting that "this action will allow the Museum of Ethnology has a comfortable and functional for the better enjoyment of your valuable exposure."
The work was awarded to the company Construcciones Francisco Roca Sánchez with an amount of € 149,900.
This project belongs to the Municipal Investment Plan 2008-2010 that promotes the City of La Union.
The lead time is seven months.
The building is located on Calle Miguel de Cervantes in the locality.
The building was conceived initially as residential property and then reused for educational, administrative and training.
The project involves the demolition of interior partitions to allow a more versatile space, as well as sanitation of the building, meeting the requirements of habitability and security that the application requires.
The Ethnological Museum houses the Interpretation Centre of the municipality.
In addition, there is a great ethnological displays of utensils in the daily lives of its inhabitants.
This permanent exhibit is composed of Ethnology series of tools that included household goods are dedicated to lighting, weights and measures, ceramics and glass, clothing, agricultural implements and containers of straw.
