The Mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabé, the Director General for Cultural Promotion, Antonio Martínez, and Regional President Caja Mediterráneo (CAM) in Murcia, Ángel Martínez, presented the Ninth National Theatre Competition "José Baeza Clemares" that held in the town of La Union from 12 to 18 June.
The Old Public Market, headquarters of the International Festival Song of Mines will host the performances that will start at 22:00 hours with free admission for all participants.
The Mayor of La Unión, Bernabe Francisco, said that "this consolidated appeal contest and has become a must for theater lovers in our region."
For its part, the Director General for Cultural Promotion, Antonio Martinez, said that "the Theatre Festival José Baeza Clemares is surpassing every issue, which encourages the Department to continue to support this commitment of the Union for the theater."
Finally, the Regional President Caja Mediterráneo (CAM) in Murcia, Ángel Martínez, expressed his satisfaction that the entity that represents collaborate "with a magnificent cultural representation year after year makes the municipality of La Union in a spectacular showcase of theater local, regional and national levels.

This theatrical event, which began in 2000, is dedicated to José Baeza Clemares (1857-1920), actor, stage director and impresario, a pioneer of drama in La Union.
Up to a total of $ 3,000 in prizes will be distributed this year with the following categories: best actor, best actress, best director, best supporting actor, best actress, and best group.
The awards ceremony will be attended by Manuel Galiana, one of the greatest exponents of the national theater scene, who will give a recital of poetry.
The Department of Culture of the Municipality of La Union organizes and sponsors the National Drama Contest "Jose Baeza Clemares", with the collaboration of the Autonomous Community and Caja Mediterráneo (CAM).
