The meeting, convened by the council, attended by over fifty merchants historic center of La Union, who have attended the explanations about the initiative taken by both our Mayor, Francisco Bernabé, and Councillor of Commerce, Juana Sanchez, on behalf of the Municipal Corporation, as Mariano Miranda, on behalf of the Federation of Business and Professional Union of Pedro Miralles, on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce of Cartagena, and Antonio Sanchez, in his capacity Chairman of Centro Comercial Abierto de Cartagena.
The meeting was considered by all participants as very interesting and has agreed to hold the next meeting to be attended by experts from the Directorate General for Trade, which will be released in-depth report by the Autonomous Community on the needs and perspectives of small businesses unionense.
Currently, and within this project, the City Council is running the aesthetic improvement works and removal of architectural barriers in the area between Calle Real and Calle Mayor, for total amount of 1.7 million euros.
Throughout 2010, plans to carry out full refurbishment of the Plaza Joaquín Costa and the Old Public Market, others worth 425,000 euros and, finally, the project would be completed in 2011 with the comprehensive reform in other 1.2 million euros extra.
