This morning he made a visit to the construction of the new EcoPark that will count the municipality of La Union, in an act that has been present our Mayor, Francisco Bernabé, accompanied by several council members of the Governing Body and the Director General Environmental Quality of the Autonomous Region of Murcia, Francisco Espejo.
The installation-the first of its kind that will tell the town-is to be located in a city-owned parcel of 2,000 square meters, which for years was the old filter, which is located at the back of Sports Municipal and which has a direct and convenient access across the street San Gil, recently restored.
The EcoPark will allow a substantial improvement in environmental quality of the city, by providing the citizens of the Union of a place in which to deposit waste free of all kinds, from furniture, appliances, batteries, debris and oils, which are the big news at the permanent collection, to the more traditional plastic, glass, organic or paper and cardboard.
The facility will have a modern system of containers and means of eliminating any possible damage to the environment during the collection process.
Also, have a classroom for environmental education work.
The works, which started a few weeks ago, are being implemented by the company Intersa and have a budget of 240,000 euros, the cost assumed in its entirety the Ministry of Agriculture and Water of the Autonomous Region of Murcia.
The provision that is responsible to manage the EcoPark in La Union may already be finished this coming March.
