A delegation from the Rostov region (Russia) is interested in recovery mode the mining heritage of the Union (09/04/2010)

The Mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabé, Councillor of Culture, Julio Garcia, and Councilwoman Institutional Relations, Juana Sanchez, have met with a delegation from Russia's Rostov Region headed by the Deputy Governor of the Region, Alexander L.

Noskov, and the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Rostov Region, Nikolay I.

Rostov delegation has already held meetings with various regional leaders.

In this sense, met with the Minister of Universities, Business and Research, Salvador Marin, and the Minister of Agriculture and Water, Antonio Cerdá, to strengthen trade ties and cooperation between the various productive sectors of both regions.

In May last year, the President of the Autonomous Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, traveled to Rostov where he noted the similarities and complementarities that have two regions.

It was the President himself who recommended regional government delegation visiting Rostov Union to determine the recovery of assets such as mining conducted in the locality.

The Mayor of La Unión, Bernabe Francisco, explained to the Russian delegation Mining Park project, a pioneering initiative in the recovery of historical heritage to its value as an attractive tourist and cultural nature.

The Mining Park is recovering from a total of eight former mining sites of the nineteenth century that will see "in situ" as they lived and worked for former miners of the Sierra de Cartagena - La Unión.

The government delegation of Rostov, interested in recovery mode the mining heritage of the Union to take him to his country, has praised the draft Mining Park and has shown its intention to further strengthen contacts between the Union and Rostov.

Later, they made a visit to the Mina Groups Vicenta.

The total population of the Rostov Region tops 4.2 million.

Rostov has rich natural resources, mainly coal.

Its most developed industries are machine building, agriculture, steel and electric power.
